I love food. My TV is always on the food channel until it switched to digital tv, and then I lost it. I was so sad, cause I only has very few channels. Last semester, I has visual development for game class, and we have to design a visual package for a game. I got inspiration from the iron chef competition, and then I create a DS game that is about human chefs against robot chefs. Although there are many cooking games have been done, I still want to create my own stories.
The concept is about something good about handmade food comparing with machine made. And I was trying to pull different style of food together. Well, it was fun when I was doing this project. Maybe it's not the best, but it good to give myself a try to do the game characters design.

Fixing the clock tower is on of scenes from my thesis story, Beyond the Horizon. This scene is about Reya's arrival to The Planet of Sloth and helping the people who live there to fix their clock tower. The Planet of Sloth wasn't that lazy before. People from the planet were very hard working and they follow the clock every minute, so they have very regular routine to do what they should do everyday. However, one day the clock suddenly broken by unknown reason, and then people start to become lazy and negative. Reya has to fix the clock in oder to get to the doorway to the next planet. The inspiration of the Planet of Sloth is from London. I don't mean the people from London are lazy, haha. I just like the feel of London and the street view of it.

Gehia! This is done by advanced perspective class. I was trying to do very simple shapes and work on the vertical composition in perspective. Every thing is very boxy and using vivid color for this painting. Kinda of having fun when I'm doing this painting.

Those are live drawings I did in the San francisco zoo. Yes, I know, it's not'' life drawing''. I used the wrong word. I didn't realize that until KJ told me I was wrong. I'm always confused how to use these two words. Life and live. However, I'm kinda of like using '' life'' this word, it seems have another meaning. Observing from the live and drawing from your life. Anyway, just a little thought here.

Beyond the Horizon. This is my topic of thesis. The main character took me sometimes to get her look. At first I was thinking in 2D animation form, and then after I watched the movie, Monster house, I decided my thesis project is going to be 3D animation film. Although I love the Miyazaki's 2D style, but somehow I feel maybe going for 3D will be better for my story development. The first sketch on the top left was done very quick, that was the original thought of Reya, but to be honest, it's too Miyazaki's film like. Therefore, I tried to move my 2D direction to 3D, then I can think out side of the box and finally get her look down. The one on the bottom right is her finally look. Maybe I still need to work on her more, but now I'm pretty like it.
